NOUN Postgraduate Admission Requirement
To obtain the application form for the NOUN School of Postgraduate Studies, you must meet specific requirements. Here are the requirements
1. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
- Candidates must pass English and Mathematics at the O’ level (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB) to meet matriculation requirements.
- Graduates who have obtained at least a third-class honors degree from the National Open University of Nigeria or any other recognized university.
- Individuals who hold a Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a Lower Credit grade from recognized institutions are eligible.
- Holders of any other qualifications, along with relevant field experience deemed acceptable by the University.
2. Masters Degree
- Candidates must have credits in English Language and Mathematics at the O’ level (e.g. WAEC, NECO, NABTEB).
- NOUN graduates with approved 1st degree, 2nd Class Honours (Lower).
- Degree with 3.00+ CGPA or 2.40-2.99 CGPA + 3 years post-graduation.
- Candidates who have obtained a Third Class honors degree and have at least five years of post-graduation experience are eligible to apply.
- Applicants must possess a Postgraduate Diploma from the National Open University of Nigeria or any recognized institution with at least a pass at the credit level.
- Candidates whose degrees are unclassified, but have an average grade of C or above, are eligible to apply.
- Candidates need a Higher National Diploma (minimum credit) from recognized institutions and a Postgraduate Diploma (minimum pass at credit level) from National Open University of Nigeria in relevant areas.
3. Master of Philosophy (M. Phil) and Masters by Research Degrees
- Graduates who have obtained an approved first degree with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from the National Open University of Nigeria or other recognized institutions.
- A Second Class Honours Degree with a substantial amount of pertinent industrial experience is required.
4. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree
- Graduates who have obtained a Master’s Degree relevant to the proposed areas of study from the National Open University of Nigeria.
- Graduates from other recognized universities who hold a master’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale.
- Candidates for the Ph.D. programs may be required to pass a qualifying examination and/or undergo a probationary period not exceeding 12 calendar months.

National Open University of Nigeria Admission Postgraduate Form 2024/2025
To apply for the NOUN postgraduate program for the 2024/2025 academic session, candidates must meet the specified entry requirements for each program and then obtain the admission form. How to Apply for NOUN Postgraduate Admission Form 2024/2025:
To obtain NOUN (National Open University of Nigeria) admission forms, you can follow these steps:
- Visit the official website of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) at admissions.nouonline.net
- On the Home Page, go to the Menu Bar and click on Apply for Admission.
- Select either Undergraduate Programme/Postgraduate Programme/PhD Programme/CEMBA CEMPA Programme/ACETEL Programme.
- Goto “Choose Faculty” (note it can be found on the left-hand side of the screen).
- Select Faculty.
- Fill out the displayed form.
- Click below to view the admission criteria.
- Click “Apply” to proceed.
- Take note of the UNIQUE ID displayed
- Click the ‘Continue’ button
- Select Bank Branch as payment type
- Click “Pay”
- Pay the required application fee as specified by NOUN. Remita charges apply.
- Postgraduate (PGD and Masters) Programmes N7, 500.00 (Seven thousand five hundred naira only).
- Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) Programmes N10,000.00 (Ten Thousand Naira only).
- Copy and take your RRR number to any bank branch for payment or finish your online payment yourself via Remita.
- After payment perform steps 1 to 3
- Goto “Continue After Payment”
- Input Unique ID, RRR number, and Programme
- Click “Proceed”
- Fill out the online form.
Note: Ensure to fill all fields marked with red stars they are compulsory. - After filling form Click “Submit”
- Print Admission Letter
- Visit the nearest study center for screening.
