For candidates who have scored below 180 in the JAMB 2023 Examination and have initially applied to a highly competitive institution, this is an opportunity to apply to a less competitive institution and increase their chances of admission.
Likewise, candidates who have scored 190 or lower in popular or competitive degree courses, such as Medicine and Surgery, Engineering, etc., should consider applying for a change of course.
Given the foregoing, JAMB candidates must adhere to the stipulated guidelines to effect any necessary changes to their course or institution preferences on the JAMB portal.
Before Applying for JAMB Change of Course or Institution
Before making any changes to your course or institution on the JAMB portal, it is crucial to carefully consider the following points:
1. Make sure that you have a clear understanding of the course and/or institution adjustments that you intend to make.
2. Do your research and ensure that the institution you wish to transfer to does not have a high JAMB cut-off mark.
3. You can switch one or all of your courses/institutions at once.
4. Once you have submitted the form, you will not be able to edit anything unless JAMB has updated this.
5. Choose a course or institution that aligns with your preferred subject combination.
6. It is recommended that you have at least two to four options, as some schools may have a high number of applicants, especially for popular courses.
How to Apply for JAMB Change of Institution/Course 2024:
To request a change of course or institution through JAMB, you must visit a JAMB-accredited Computer Based Test (CBT) Center. Follow these steps to get started:
1. Access your JAMB Portal.
2. choose “Registration (only for 2024)” from the drop-down menu.
3. Select “2024 UTME Data Correction” from the options.
4. Make a payment by clicking “Make Payment” and choosing “Choice of Institution/Course Correction”.
5. Click “Pay Now” and take note of the Transaction ID displayed on the Confirmation Page.
6. Continue by selecting a payment method and following the necessary steps for Mastercard, Visa, or PAGA/POCKETMONI.
7. Once payment is confirmed, provide your exam year and JAMB registration number.
8. Enter all relevant information accurately, and select your desired course and institution as well as a second choice.
9. To complete your application, click “Submit”.
How much is the Change of Institution/Course form?
Please note that the cost of the JAMB change of course form is N2,500. This amount covers the alteration of your course and the rectification of any data errors.
To ensure a smooth process, please keep the following points in mind:
– Avoid applying for a change of institution or course to institutions where you have already completed your post-UTME.
– You have the option to switch one or all of your courses/institutions at once.
– Once you submit the change of course and/or institution form, it cannot be modified. However, you can change your course and institution twice.
